Forschung

Ich bin begeisterte Pflanzenökologin und interessiere mich für Prozesse in ober- und unterirdischen Pflanze-Umwelt-Interaktionen. Ich versuche zu verstehen wie diese Interaktionen zum Erhalt bzw. zur Verbesserung terrestrischer Ökosysteme eingesetzt werden können, mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf (semi-)natürliche Graslandhabitate in temperten und nördlichen und alpinen Systemen.

Meine Forschung ist angelehnt an Pflanzenökologie, Populationsgenetik und Landschaftsgenomik mit bevorzugt naturschutzrelevantem Kontext. Ich mag’ es Freiland- und Laborarbeit für meine Studien zu kombinieren. Ultimativ möchte ich durch meine Forschung Einblick in verschiedene ökologische Stufen unserer Umwelt erhalten, von Genen über Individuen hin zu Populationen und Pflanzengesellschaften.

Zur Zeit arbeite ich besonders mit der heterostylen Art Primula verris (Echte Schlüsselblume) in einem populationsökologischen und -genetischen Kontext. Zudem bin ich als Deutsche Koordinatorin in der internationalen Bürgerwissenschaftenkampagne (Citizen Science) “Findet die Schlüsselblume” (www.cowslip.science   ) involviert.
