Meine Forschung beschäftigt sich vorrangig damit, populationsökologische Mechanismen zu verstehen, die zum Wachstum oder Rückgang von Populationsgrößen beitragen. Ich interessiere mich insbesondere dafür, wie Umweltgradienten die genetische Struktur von Pflanzenpopulationen und die intraspezifische Variation von Phenotypen durch lokale Adaptation beeinflussen. Dazu nutze ich häufig invasive Arten als Modellsysteme, da sie gut geeignet sind, öko-evolutionäre Prinzipien auf vergleichsweise überschaubaren Zeitskalen zu untersuchen.
